Scheveningen Beach

The kilometer-long sandy beach of Scheveningen is the most versatile beach in the Netherlands, events are organized all 4 seasons and it is cheerful and busy everywhere, especially on hot days. If you are looking for more peace and quiet then there is the 'Zwarte Pad', Belgisch Park or you can walk through the dunes to a quiet stretch of beach.

Food and drink

All summer long there are beautiful beach pavilions on the beach where you can enjoy a delicious meal overlooking the sea. Sun beds and screens are rented on the beach. At the head of the beach you will find the ports of Scheveningen. There you can buy fresh fish or dine in one of the restaurants that overlook the inland harbor.

Shop

You can also enjoy shopping on the boulevard of Scheveningen.
The covered Palace Promenade is even open until 22:00 in the summer.

Events

You can find an overview of events on the website www.scheveningen.nl. Who does not know the fireworks festival, but there are also volleyball competitions, performances and music festivals.

With public transport

Our hotel can be reached from Central Station by tram no. 9.
You can reach Scheveningen by tram in 15 minutes.
You must then get off at the Circustheater stop.
You can also take bus no. 22 from Central Station to Scheveningen and get off at Pathe Cinema.

Regarding the connection to the World forum Congresgebouw.
The stop of tram 1 or bus 21 is also 2 minutes away from our hotel.
These will take you to the World Forum Congress Center within 10 minutes.

Ticket can be purchased in the tram or bus, as well as returns can be obtained in our hotel.
 

By car

Free parking spaces are very scarce in Scheveningen. Our hotel has a limited number of parking permits from the municipality of The Hague. If available, you can obtain a parking permit of €24 per night, and with this you can park in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.

If there are no more permits available from our hotel, you can park the car in the parking garage (2 minutes walk from the hotel). Upon arrival at our hotel you will be explained the possibilities. Parking in the parking garage costs around €30 per 24 hours.

As you may be aware, there are daily updates being sent from the RIVM (Dutch National Institute for Public Health & Environment) with more details and advice on how habitants and organizations within the Netherlands should cope with this delicate matter. We are following these guidelines by taking the following steps:

Hygienic procedures at Hotel ’t Witte Huys:

1. We are avoiding physical contact between guests and employees as much as possible. Where we usually greet you by shaking your hand, we will from now on only greet you with a smile.
2. As city center hotel we advise all internal and external guests to wash their hands as much as possible after being outside or after having physical contact with others. Apart from the hotel rooms we also have the public restrooms available.
3. Of course hygiene has always been of utmost importance to us. Our daily goal is to clean and disinfect our hotel rooms and public areas with the biggest care and eye for detail. We will maintain to do this with extra supervision to avoid any risks.

Your reservation at Hotel ’t Witte Huys:

The current reservations at Hotel ’t Witte Huys will not be cancelled from our side. For cancelling reservations which are booked with non-refundable rates and with pre-payments, we ask you to contact the reception to discuss the possibilities.
